"The Rundown" -
A Review by 'Starcat'
Dark Horizons

Well everyone I was fortunate enough to sneak a peek at a rough directors cut of The Rock’s newest movie The Rundown. Formerly called Hell Dorado, The Rundown stars The Rock, Christopher Walkin, and Seann William Scott.

Now being a rough cut there was a few things that will be changed. I will say however that the movie was very entertaining. I found that the action sequences were very good, in fact I feel some of the best The Rock has done yet.

Now, I do have to bag on the plot a little. The Plot if you didn’t know is basically, The Rock, is man whose past is hidden in mystery and questions, and is forced to find the son of his employer who happened to be on a treasure hunt in the Amazon. Once he arrives there he meets Christopher Walkin’s character who is the ruthless leader of a enslaved mining town. The Rock then finds his man but of course Christopher Walkin has other ideas as to them going anywhere without getting his hands on the treasure that Seann William Scott’s character was looking for. I won’t say too much else about the plot. I will say that the girl in the movie played by Rosario Dawson did an ok job at acting, but brought up some nice sex appeal.

It’s always good when you have a hot sweaty girl in the jungle. But, as I was saying before I felt the plot didn’t go anywhere. On the bright side Sean William Scotts character did bring up the comedy end of the movie. There’s a peeing scene that I found quite funny. The location shot were very nice. Hawaii sure does look like that Amazon. One of the persons I was with had a real problem with Christopher Walkin in the movie. They felt that he was a bad villain, and not nearly evil enough. I will say that myself, along with the rest of the audience got a big laugh at many of his talking scenes. All and all the movie was entertaining. Don’t expect too much of a plot and you will have fun.

O, and there is a great cameo of Future Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in the beginning of the movie.
